Community Service

The South Oldham Rotary Club believes in giving back to the community and actively supports the following:

Oldham County Arts Center

  • The club cleaned up and completely landscaped the garden area outside the Center main building.
  • As part of a literacy project, the club donated books suitable for both adult and child reading projects.
  • Club members completed paint up/ fix up projects in and around the Center building.

Operation Spirit

  • We have financially supported Operation Spirit (Supportive Parents Involved in Raising Incredible Teens) and are promoting Rotary support on a wider geographical basis.

Project Graduation

  • We are an active supporter of Oldham County Project Graduation, providing volunteers for high school graduation festivities.

Interchurch Council Food Baskets

  • We provide donations and member hands in support of annual Interchurch council food baskets during the Christmas holiday season.

Cub Scout Sponsor

  • We sponsor Cub Pack 998 which meets at Kenwood Station Elementary School.

Greenways

  • We have attended early stage planning meetings for the Oldham County bike and pedestrian Greenways project, with expectations that we will provide active support when the project is under way.

Dollars for Scholars

  • Two of our club members are on the Board of Oldham County Dollars for Scholars, the organization that processes our scholarship applications (see Vocation section for more information)
