Scholarship - The South Oldham Rotary Club is currently offering two $1000 scholarships. Our scholarships are offered to a South Oldham High School Senior. To apply for our scholarship fill out an application with Oldham County Dollars for Scholars. The application can be downloaded from their website www.ocdfs.org
Student of the Month - Each month the South Oldham Rotary Club honors two students, one from South Oldham High School and the second from the Oldham County Career Center. The South Oldham Rotary Club is pleased to present the honorees for the 2007-2008 school year:

The South Oldham Rotary Club honored the February 2008 Students of the Month at their regular meeting on February 8, 2008. There was a framed certificate presented by Vocational Services Director John Oliva.
William Jordan Ellis is a Senior at South Oldham High School. Ellis is the son of Bill and Elizabeth Ellis. After attending the University of Kentucky, Centre College or Eastern Kentucky University, obtaining a major in Pre-med and Biology, Ellis plans to continue to Medical School and become a doctor. At South Oldham High School Ellis is involved in baseball, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Beta Club and Peer Mentoring where he works with SOHS freshmen. Ellis enjoys sports, hanging out with friends and playing Guitar Hero.
Nathaniel Fisher McDevitt is a Senior at South Oldham High School and attends the Career Pathways program. McDevitt is the son of Holly and Timothy McDevitt and his long term goal is to have a career in the financial industry after graduating from Centre College, Hanover or Wittenberg College. McDevitt is involved in numerous activities at SOHS—football, basketball, track, BETA, National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. McDevitt was awarded to the First Team All District as safety and wide receiver and was an Edward Jones Student of the Week. McDevitt enjoys sports, friends, hunting and fishing in his free time.

The South Oldham Rotary Club honored the January 2008 Students of the Month at their regular meeting on January 11, 2008. There was a framed certificate presented by Vocational Services Director John Oliva.
Lauren Elizabeth Jones is a Senior at South Oldham High School and plans to become a pediatrician in her own practice after graduating from Austin Peay State University and obtaining a biology degree in premed. Lauren has obtained a full basketball scholarship from the Clarksville TN University. At South Oldham High School Jones is involved in with the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Peer Mentoring, Newscast, Senior Class Historian, Senior Advisory Board and the Senior Leadership Board. Outside of school interests are basketball, photography and writing.
Rebecca Lee Willis is a Senior at South Oldham High School and attends the Oldham County Career Center in the Health Sciences department. Willis plans to attend Bellarmine University or the University of Louisville and earn a bachelor degree in nursing, then obtaining a masters degree in order to become a family nurse practitioner. Health Occupations Students of American and the Spirit Club are Willis’ activities at South Oldham High School. While not at school she enjoys working, reading and spending time with family and friends.

The South Oldham Rotary Club honored the December 2007 Students of the Month at their regular meeting on December 14, 2007. There was a framed certificate presented by Vocational Services Director John Oliva. Alex Timothy Singer is a Senior at South Oldham High School where he is a member of the football team, Stammtisch (German Club), National Honor Society, Beta Club and the Senior Leadership Board. Singer is the son of Timothy and Susan Singer and resides in Crestwood. Upon graduation from SOHS, Alex plans to attend Georgia Tech, the University of Kentucky or Tulane University and major in engineering. In his free time, Singer plays a bass guitar, basketball and enjoys hanging out with friends.
Lauren Wells is a Senior at South Oldham High School and attends the Oldham County Career Center. At SOHS, Wells has been class officer and involved in Skills USA. Wells lives in the Crestwood area and is the daughter of Kim and Joe Wells. Outside of school, Wells enjoys guitar, music and singing. After graduation from SOHS, Wells plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University, the University of Louisville or Jefferson Community College. Her long term goal is to get a degree in something that will benefit her in the construction business.

The South Oldham Rotary Club honored the November 2007 Students of the Month at their regular meeting on November 9, 2007. There was a framed certificate presented by Vocational Services Director John Oliva.
Gregory M. Zollman is a Senior at South Oldham High School and is enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at the Oldham County Career Center. Gregory is the son of Barbara and David Davis. Playing guitar and his job at Oldham County Transportation are some of the things Gregory enjoys outside of school. Gregory’s plans after graduation from SOHS include attending WyoTech, an automotive technical school and getting a job making good money.
Evelyn Day Fuson is a Senior at South Oldham High School where she is active in the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Editor of the Yearbook, Senior Class President, Senior Advisory Board and the Senior Leadership Board. Evelyn is the daughter of Jeff and Julie Fuson. After graduation from SOHS Evelyn plans to attend Georgetown College, Eastern Kentucky University or Western Kentucky University where she plans a major in Communications, Graphic Design or Journalism with a minor in Art. Working in a field where she can meet a lot of new people and enrich her relationships is a long term career goal for Evelyn. In her free time, Evelyn enjoys photography, missions, writing, reading and building newer and stronger relationships.

The South Oldham Rotary Club honored the October 2007 Students of the Month at their regular meeting on October 12, 2007. There was a framed certificate presented by Vocational Services Committee member Dr. Matt Blair.
Matthew Faller is a Senior at South Oldham High School and the son of Dave and Kris Faller. After graduating from South Oldham High School Matthew plans to attend Virginia Tech, Purdue or Penn State. His long term goal is to major in aeronautical engineering and design planes, engines or space shuttles for NASA or a company like Boeing. At South Oldham High School Matthew is on the Senior Advisory Board, Beta Club, Stammtisch, National Honor Society, soccer, football and basketball. Matthew also enjoys competitive soccer, hanging out with friends and is a Steelers fan.
Eric Eklund is a Senior at South Oldham High School and is enrolled in the Career Pathways Program in the construction department at The Career Center. Eric is the son of Karen & Bob Eklund. Eric’s career goal is have his own construction company and build homes. In Eric’s free time, he pursues his entrepreneurial spirit by doing construction work and running his own lawn service.

The South Oldham Rotary Club honored the Septemberl 2007 Students of the Month at their regular meeting on September 21, 2007. There was a framed certificate presented by Vocational Services Director John Oliva.
Jennifer Katlyn Morgan is a Senior at South Oldham High School. Jennifer is the daughter of John & Kay Morgan. Jennifer’s plans to attend Yale, Harvard or Princeton. After graduating from college she plans to be a professional actress or published author. At SOHS Jennifer is active in the Drama Club, Literary Club, Spanish Club, Beta Club, National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and the Academic Team. In her free time, Jennifer enjoys reading, writing, acting, music, mythology, foreign cultures and history.
Nicole Allgood is a Senior at South Oldham High School and is enrolled in the Career Pathways Program at The Career Center. Nicole is the daughter of Howard & Sheryl Allgood. After attending the University of Louisville Nicole plans to become an elementary school teacher or a college volleyball coach. At SOHS Nicole is a member of the volleyball team and the French Club. Outside of school Nicole plans for MAVA a volleyball travel team.
